About the Facility
The Canadian Institute of Islamic Civilization (CIIC) is one of the biggest projects of the Muslim Association of Canada (MAC). Located in the heart of downtown Montreal, it is a key milestone towards establishing a special relationship between Muslims and non-Muslims based on mutual respect, through highlighting common values, and identifying avenues of cooperation. Thanks to its location and facilities, the CIIC is a perfect fit to host events engaging scholars, intellectuals and artists in order to address issues pertaining to Islam and Muslims in Quebec and Canada.
The CIIC has the CIIC research centre (second floor), The City area (third floor), a youth center (fourth floor) and soon the Museum of Islamic civilization, a gallery of Islamic art and a vibrant Islamic library.
The CIIC celebrate the rich and diverse Muslim heritage, and inspires all communities to embrace diversity and be instrumental in shaping a cohesive society. The CIIC is a center for all communities, Muslims and non-Muslims, and it focuses on nurturing knowledge and understanding of Muslim heritage, history, people, arts and contributions to human civilization.
