Muslim Medical Association of Canada (MMAC) Lifesavers Workshop
- This event is planned In collaboration with MMAC, Islamic Center of Waterloo and Waterloo Masjid.
- The workshop will be hosted upstairs at Waterloo Masjid on Sep-14th, 2024.
- You must be registered to attend the workshop.
- There will be 2 sessions: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm, please select only 1 session.
- Registration fee is only $5, which helps MMAC to cover the administrative, equipment supplies and transportation costs.
The workshop content includes at minimum:
– Recognizing and responding to signs of a heart attack, cardiac arrest and stroke
– Performing bystander CPR
– Becoming familiar with using an AED
– Performing the Heimlich maneuver for someone choking
– Placing someone in the recovery position
Please Note: This is NOT a substitute for formal CPR/BLS/ALS training through the Heart & Stroke Foundation, which typically costs hundreds of dollars per participant.
