Job Title: BIC Property Custodian

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Custodian to ensure our mosque remains clean, orderly, and welcoming to all worshippers. The Custodian will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize mosque facilities including prayer halls, washrooms, Wodo’a areas, offices, and common areas.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
  • Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
  • Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
  • Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly.
  • Restock supplies in washrooms and all other supplies needed.
  • Replace water dispenser’s \ cooler’s empty bottles. 
  • Keep track of cleaning supplies and request replenishments as needed.
  • Assist in preparing the mosque for daily prayers and Jumu’ah prayers.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, furnace filters and water treatment equipment maintenance.
  • Ensure the mosque’s exterior areas are clean and presentable.
  • Report any damages, repairs needed, or safety hazards to management.
  • Set up, tear down and clean up for special events, lectures, and community gatherings as needed.
  • Adhere to the mosque’s policies and procedures.
  • Open and close the mosque as needed. 
  • Organize Quran bookshelf’s  
  • Keep emergency exits clear and accessible.

Terms of employment: Part-time.

Number of hours per Week: 20 hours
Languages: English OR Arabic.
Closing date: Tuesday July 17th, 2024
